Electrical Foreman

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate electricians, apprentices, and sub-trades on construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
• Plan and schedule work assignments and participate in complex or hazardous tasks
• Train and instruct subordinates on procedures and safe operation of equipment
• Conduct periodic inspections and ensure availability of materials, tools, and supplies
• Estimate time, material, and labor costs; maintain job records and submit reports
• Collaborate with project managers and recommend approaches for proposed projects
• Enforce safety regulations and working conditions

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of electrical trade practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools
• Strong understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Proven ability to supervise skilled electrical workers
• Considerable knowledge of applicable electrical codes for installations
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and sketches
• Ability to estimate materials and labor costs accurately
• Skill in use and care of electrician's hand and shop tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong work ethic
