About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate electricians, apprentices, and sub-trades on construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
- Plan and schedule work assignments and participate in complex or hazardous tasks
- Train and instruct subordinates on procedures and safe operation of equipment
- Conduct periodic inspections and ensure availability of materials, tools, and supplies
- Estimate time, material, and labor costs; maintain job records and submit reports
- Collaborate with project managers and recommend approaches for proposed projects
- Enforce safety regulations and working conditions
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of electrical trade practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools
- Strong understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Proven ability to supervise skilled electrical workers
- Considerable knowledge of applicable electrical codes for installations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and sketches
