Electrical Estimator

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of costs for materials, labour, and equipment for construction projects
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine scope
• Factor in overhead, insurance, taxes, and contingencies into estimates
• Identify potential cost risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to align estimates with project goals
• Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather field data
• Evaluate completed projects to refine future estimating accuracy

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in engineering, estimating, project management, or construction engineering technology
• 1-3 years of experience estimating electrical construction projects
• Knowledge of construction scheduling, planning, and execution
• Proficiency in blueprint reading
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the electrical trade
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
• Experience with Accubid
• Experience with Bluebeam
