Electrical Estimator

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for commercial construction projects including costs for materials, labour, and equipment
• Advise on tendering procedures, analyze tenders, and participate in negotiations
• Establish and maintain tendering processes and cost monitoring systems
• Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects
• Participate in site reviews, tender hand-offs, and project closing meetings
• Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
• Liaise with engineers and architects to prepare economic feasibility studies for cost adjustments
• Conduct material and equipment purchasing for secured jobs
• Update and maintain the estimating database

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in electrical engineering, construction technology, or a related discipline
• Over 5 years of experience estimating electrical projects in the commercial construction sector
• Knowledge of contract management, construction scheduling, and blueprint reading
• Ability to read and comprehend financial statements
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MS Project
• Experience with JD Edwards, Accubid, or Bid2Win
