About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, fabrication, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and modification of electrical equipment and components.
  • Maintain electrical components removed from ships, ground support equipment, and heavy-duty tracked or wheeled vehicles.
  • Execute operator, intermediate, and limited major rebuild levels of maintenance, including spot painting.
  • Provide technical assistance, guidance, and training to lower-level mechanics.
  • Adhere to all established safety standards, quality standards, and applicable time schedules.

Requirements

  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree requiring a minimum of 500 hours of instruction or equivalent technical schooling/on-the-job training.
  • Five (5) years of directly related work experience.
  • Completion of the Basic Electrical Equipment Repairman Course or equivalent.
  • Completion of the Advanced Military Maintenance School or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical circuitry, principles, formulas, and electronic theory.
  • Ability to interpret wire color codes, symbols, layout sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical orders.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
