Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical services designs from feasibility and concept stages through to detailed design (RIBA Stage 4).
• Design low voltage distribution systems, including single line diagrams, standby generation, and UPS systems.
• Perform cable calculations, lighting calculations, and LV discrimination studies using specialized software.
• Develop electrical design layouts, distribution board schedules, and small power systems.
• Design security and safety systems including fire alarms, intruder detection, access control, and lightning protection.
• Produce technical documentation such as feasibility reports, design reports, and contractor submission reviews.
• Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams including mechanical, civil, structural engineers, and architects.

Requirements

• Proven experience in electrical engineering design on capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK and European electrical regulations.
• Proficiency in electrical design software including Amtech or Trimble ProDesign for LV design.
• Experience with lighting design software such as Relux or Dialux.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for developing layouts and single line diagrams.
• Working understanding of Revit MEP or other 3D design software.
• Experience with motor controls and variable speed drives.
• Strong technical writing and data analysis skills.
