Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead Electrical Engineer on assigned projects from pre-sales through final commissioning.
• Design optimal UPS and DC power systems based on customer equipment and IT loads.
• Design switchgear configurations and control schemes using PLCs and/or relays for automated transfer operations.
• Develop ground fault protective schemes and generate detailed bills of materials.
• Manage contracted integration companies to provide schematic, detail, and construction design narratives.
• Collaborate with architects, general contractors, and business partners to specify electrical equipment including generators and switchgear.
• Perform sizing analysis for standby emergency generators based on various load types.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal building codes and the National Electrical Code.
• Provide technical support, quality control, and onsite integration support during construction and commissioning phases.
• Travel to sites (5% - 10%) for engineering evaluations, audits, and system start-ups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of low voltage switchboard and switchgear design, installation, and use.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit within the AutoDesk suite.
• Deep understanding of the current National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Experience with Modbus and TCP/IP communication protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical construction drawings and equipment specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering (PE) License.
• Proven experience in project management and leading multidisciplinary teams.
