Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead substation designs for major capital projects, including scoping, budgeting, and conceptual engineering
• Perform detailed electrical engineering analyses, calculations, and designs using standard methodologies
• Maintain and interpret technical drawings, including schematics and single one-line diagrams
• Develop and specify equipment requirements and electrical specifications for substation projects
• Ensure all engineering designs comply with company, local, state, and national codes and standards
• Collaborate across functional project teams to support project needs and resolve technical challenges
• Review engineering work performed by others to ensure compliance with specifications and contract requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience
• Proven expertise in substation design and physical substation design
• Proficiency with single one-line diagrams and electrical schematics
• Strong knowledge of power system protection and industry regulatory standards
• Experience with project scoping, estimating, and equipment specification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in construction and outage sequencing within utility environments
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory environments and incentive mechanisms
• Ability to perform economic analyses of engineering alternatives and develop business cases
