About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct, and execute science and engineering programs involving fundamental research, development, and demonstration.
- Design and develop advanced electrical architectures, components, and subsystems for national defense programs.
- Perform conceptual and detailed design, including analog/digital design, embedded firmware, schematic capture, and board layout.
- Develop advanced engineering demonstrators and test units, performing hands-on testing and debugging of circuitry.
- Synthesize future deterrence needs to define weapon system requirements and develop exploratory architectures.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary design teams to support multiple programs simultaneously.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
- Five (5) years of directly relevant experience in electrical engineering or research and development.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
- Ability to work onsite at our Albuquerque, NM or Livermore, CA locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field involving independent research.
- Experience in System Engineering for complex systems and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Technical expertise in analog/digital circuit simulation, RF circuits, or laser and fiber optics.
- Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as C/C++, C#, Java, or LabVIEW.
- Proven ability to lead high-profile projects and brief stakeholders or upper-level management.
