About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical system designs, including power distribution, control systems, and interconnection wiring
  • Specify and procure electrical components such as motors, VFDs, transformers, and control panels
  • Produce and review detailed electrical drawings, including schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams
  • Collaborate with mechanical, hydraulic, and control system engineers to ensure system integration
  • Design and oversee the fabrication of electrical control consoles and panels
  • Develop and implement testing procedures for verification and validation of electrical systems
  • Participate in design reviews and hazard assessments to ensure compliance with industry codes
  • Provide technical support during equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design or control systems engineering within industrial, oil & gas, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of power systems, motor controls, PLCs, and instrumentation
  • Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards including NEC, IEC, UL, and NFPA 70E
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or the ability to obtain one
