Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and wire electrical control cabinets for low and high voltage applications
• Manage electrical design using EPLAN, including schematics and documentation
• Perform electrical risk assessments and define mitigation measures
• Assemble, install, and integrate electromechanical systems
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to translate requirements into electrical designs
• Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems
• Maintain structured engineering documentation and BOMs
• Manage workshop activities and electrical assembly best practices

Requirements

• Vocational training as Electrical/Mechatronics Technician or degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in building and commissioning electrical control cabinets
• Expertise in EPLAN for electrical design and documentation
• Knowledge of German and European standards (DIN VDE 0100, DIN EN 61439, etc.)
• Experience with industrial components like PLCs, relays, and circuit breakers
• Proficiency in English
• Willingness to travel for on-site experimental campaigns

Preferred Qualifications

• German language skills
• Knowledge of PCB design and electrical circuit design
• Understanding of mechanical design and fabrication (machining, 3D printing)
