Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design spacecraft bus and payload hardware including single-board computers, FPGAs, SoCs, processors, sensors, SDRs, LNAs, filters, and amplifiers
• Develop circuit board schematics, select components, and perform PCB layout using Altium
• Develop firmware and test software for circuit boards
• Generate production-level tests and perform failure analyses
• Create and maintain technical documentation for spacecraft bus and payload design
• Assist mechanical engineers with thermal requirements and mechanical integration
• Support spacecraft payload integration, testing, and delivery to launch partners

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in circuit board design (discrete logic, signal conditioning, power circuits, and RF PCBs)
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium
• Experience with circuit simulation using LTSpice or similar
• Previous satellite bus design experience
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, SoCs, and RF components
• Working knowledge of logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
• Experience using Linux-based systems
• Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent participation in space payload hardware/software projects, preferably communications systems
• Programming proficiency in C++, C, Python, or MATLAB
• Experience programming microcontrollers and integrating hardware/software systems
• Familiarity with FPGA programming (VHDL/Verilog) and Altera or Xilinx FPGAs
