Electrical Engineer - iPhone Systems

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and development of next-generation iPhone products from concept to mass production
• Serve as a board integrator, working with PD, layout, DFM, and technology teams to refine designs
• Act as the technical owner at Contract Manufacturer sites to support engineering builds from Proto through PVT
• Identify and resolve EE-related issues spanning architecture, power consumption, thermal behavior, and manufacturing
• Perform hands-on bring-up and debug of high-speed and low-speed interfaces, including I2C and SPI
• Lead hardware bring-up activities on NPI programs, coordinating across DFM, RF, and Audio teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Solid understanding of the system development process, including concept creation, schematics, and board development
• Direct experience with high-speed bus design, low-power design, or industry-standard protocols (USB, wireless, memory bus, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, PCB layouts, and CAD to trace signal paths

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Direct experience in high-volume consumer electronics or mobile devices
• Strong understanding of DC/DC power supply and signal integrity
• Experience in the design and development of high-speed digital and/or analog boards
• Experience with statistical data analysis tools such as JMP or Tableau
• Experience performing non-destructive failure analysis (CT, LIT, TDR) on engineering samples
