About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and transition of advanced microelectronics packaging solutions from concept through production
- Coordinate and execute research and development activities in a laboratory environment
- Manage moderately sized projects including prototyping, evaluation, and qualification testing
- Support manufacturing through failure analysis, process development, and root cause analysis on circuit card assemblies
- Perform mechanical design and analysis to meet requirements for severe environment systems
Requirements
- STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Working knowledge of structural, dynamic, and thermal analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS)
- Ability to work onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with microelectronics design, manufacturing assembly, and packaging materials
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing for electronics, such as Aerosol Jet technology
- Experience with flip chip development and design
- Understanding of RF and high-speed digital signal integrity
- Ability to read and review electrical schematics and circuit board layouts
