Electrical Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Design school bus electrical systems using advanced electrical engineering principles and techniques
• Develop 3D models, installation drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOM)
• Research industry developments to implement low-cost, state-of-the-art alternatives to current production systems
• Provide technical support for production, warranty reduction, and field service corrective actions
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Field Service, Quality, and Purchasing departments to ensure seamless integration
• Interface with Test Group personnel to prototype new systems and apply development testing results to new designs
• Ensure all projects are cost-effective, functional, and compliant with all applicable regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechatronics, or automotive engineering from an ABET accredited university
• 3+ years of related engineering experience
• Proven experience in automotive design and troubleshooting
• Strong root cause analysis skills for solving complex problems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAN communication network protocols
• Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink
• Experience using 3D CAD software
• Experience with PLM software for developing Bills of Materials
• Project management experience
