About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical contributions to electrical sustaining engineering activities, including requirement analysis, detailed design, and verification.
- Identify technical problems and develop innovative, creative solutions for medical products.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Team Leads to solve engineering changes and meet performance criteria within project schedules.
- Participate in design and change reviews with the Sustaining Team and Engineering Change Board.
- Generate and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including design requirement specifications, engineering prints, and bills-of-materials.
- Report and track product and process metrics using established engineering tools and best practices.
- Identify and report quality or compliance concerns and implement corrective or preventive actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic engineering.
- 4-7 years of experience in the design, development, and testing of complex electrical/electronic components or subsystems.
- Experience with electromechanical hardware development, preferably in medical devices or highly regulated industries.
- Proficiency in industry-leading software tools such as PSpice, OrCAD, or Mentor's DxDesigner and Expedition.
- Hands-on experience with analog/digital circuit design and embedded systems.
- Experience with 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers and Arm Cortex-M series processors.
- Knowledge of communication protocols including CAN, SPI, I2C, and UART.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing circuits involving batteries, blowers, compressors, motor control, or solenoid control.
- Previous exposure to Medical Devices and FDA regulations.
- Working knowledge of UL/IEC 60601-1, ISO13485, and CE/UL certification.
- Familiarity with design QA, DFx, and DFMEA.
