Electrical Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Support the design, analysis, integration, and testing of spacecraft electrical systems and subsystems
• Assist in the development of avionics hardware, electrical interfaces, wiring harnesses, and power distribution architectures
• Perform schematic capture, electrical analysis, component selection, and support PCB design and layout
• Support hardware integration and testing in laboratory, cleanroom, and environmental test environments
• Perform electrical troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and logic analyzers
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation including schematics, ICDs, and test procedures
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support spacecraft development and verification

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 0–3 years of professional engineering experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, or automotive
• Fundamental understanding of analog and digital electronics principles
• Familiarity with circuit design, schematic development, and troubleshooting techniques
• Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• U.S. person status required for ITAR compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with spacecraft communication protocols (RS-422, SpaceWire, LVDS, I2C, SPI)
• Proficiency with ECAD tools like Altium Designer, OrCAD, or KiCad
• Exposure to FPGA development, microcontrollers, or embedded software
• Experience with electrical simulation tools like LTspice
• Familiarity with environmental qualification testing (TVAC, vibration, EMI/EMC)
• Programming experience using Python
