About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform root cause failure analysis on electronic and electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
- Diagnose failures at the component and assembly level using electrical characterization techniques and deprocessing methodologies.
- Utilize analytical tools such as X-ray analysis, micro-section analysis, and optical microscopy to investigate failure events.
- Author formal technical analysis reports to substantiate conclusions and recommend solutions to programs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists to support Raytheon programs and suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an electrical engineering related field.
- Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, including analog and digital circuits, RF, and signal integrity.
- Hands-on experience with electrical lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and DMMs.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Strong technical report writing and verbal presentation skills.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as MIL-STD, IPC, or ASTM.
- Experience with advanced analytical tools like Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) or Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (SAM).
- Proficiency with data collection and analysis tools such as MATLAB or Mathcad.
- Knowledge of mechanical and material analysis disciplines.
