About the role
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of next-generation intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) equipment and catheter systems
- Design, build, and iterate on custom laboratory and automated test systems, including embedded controllers and data acquisition
- Develop and debug embedded firmware and supporting software for test and characterization platforms
- Participate in circuit board design, bring-up, modification, and debugging
- Collect and interpret experimental performance data to prepare technical summaries for stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, develop prototypes, and execute experiments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant engineering experience with significant hands-on technical contribution
- Experience working with embedded systems, firmware, or hardware-software integrated systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with an experimental, systems-level mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with embedded firmware development in C/C++ (preferably on ARM-based microcontrollers)
- Exposure to circuit board design and review; proficiency with Altium Designer is a plus
- Experience developing automated test systems, robotics, motion control, or instrumentation
- Familiarity with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators
- Experience with Python for data handling or test automation
- Medical device development experience and familiarity with design controls
