About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide E&I engineering assistance to maintenance and operations, including troubleshooting, equipment failure evaluation, and technical repair recommendations.
  • Drive instrument and electrical issues to root cause using a team-based approach and lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) teams.
  • Provide technical expertise for I&E equipment up to 480V, including instruments (level, flow, pressure), analyzers, motors, starters, and VFDs.
  • Develop and implement Mechanical Integrity, Quality Assurance, Reliability, and PPM programs for the unit.
  • Initiate Management of Change (MOC) documents to improve safety, quality, and environmental impact.
  • Prepare and audit scopes of work, estimates, schedules, and equipment specifications for capital projects.
  • Review preventive maintenance plans and procedures to ensure optimum performance and frequency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a strongly related degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing environments (includes co-op or intern experience).
  • Working knowledge of at least two of the following: Instruments, Analyzers, Basic Electric (120VAC to 480V), wiring, power panels, heat trace, Motors, Starters, VFD, or Control Valves.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-based decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence leadership, peers, and technicians.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to wear required PPE (steel toes, hard hat, eye protection, respirators, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with field personnel on operations troubleshooting.
  • Strong background in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Experience with Probability of Failure (PFD) analysis on Safety Interlock systems or Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as NEC and ISA.
  • Experience with PLC systems, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), or SAP.
  • Demonstrated work experience in power systems analysis and applications.
