About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide E&I engineering assistance to maintenance and operations, including troubleshooting and technical recommendations for repairs and upgrades
- Drive instrument and electrical issues to root cause using a team-based approach and lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) teams
- Provide technical expertise for instruments, analyzers, and electrical systems up to 480V (wiring, power panels, motors, VFDs, etc.)
- Develop and implement Mechanical Integrity, Quality Assurance, Reliability, and PPM programs
- Initiate management of change (MOC) documents to improve safety, quality, and environmental impact
- Prepare and audit scopes of work, estimates, schedules, and equipment specifications
- Participate in process hazards analyses and scope development for capital projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a strongly related degree
- 3+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing environments (includes co-op or intern experience)
- Working knowledge of instruments (level, flow, pressure), analyzers, or electrical systems (120VAC to 480V)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and typical business software
- Ability to diagnose technical problems and make data-based decisions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence leadership, peers, and technicians
- Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators and eye protection
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with field personnel on operations troubleshooting
- Strong background in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Experience with Probability of Failure (PFD) analysis on Safety Interlock systems or Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA)
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards such as NEC or ISA
- Experience with PLC systems and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
- Working knowledge of SAP
