About the role
Responsibilities
- Optimize acoustic performance for TWS earbuds and audio products, including speaker units, acoustic chambers, and sound tubes.
- Tune acoustic metrics such as frequency response, distortion, and sensitivity to ensure high sound quality.
- Review and optimize audio processing algorithms including Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Equalizer (EQ), and Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC).
- Debug Bluetooth audio protocols (A2DP, HFP, LC3) to ensure low-latency, high-fidelity transmission.
- Conduct comprehensive acoustic testing using professional equipment such as KEMAR, artificial ears, and APx audio analyzers.
- Develop and execute test plans, analyze data, and provide actionable feedback to ODM partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and mechanical engineering, to align acoustic structures with industrial design.
- Document test procedures, results, and tuning recommendations in detailed technical reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Physics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in acoustic design or audio product development, preferably with TWS earbuds.
- Strong foundation in acoustic theory, including sound wave propagation, impedance matching, and resonance.
- Proficiency with acoustic testing equipment (KEMAR, B&K microphones, APx audio analyzers) and audio analysis software (SoundCheck, CLIO).
- Expertise in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and audio algorithms (ANC, EQ, AEC).
- Knowledge of Bluetooth audio protocols (A2DP, HFP, LC3) and their impact on latency and bandwidth.
- Programming skills in Python or MATLAB for data analysis and algorithm development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with spatial audio or low-power design projects.
- Familiarity with psychoacoustics and human auditory characteristics.
- Prior experience with patent drafting or technical publications.
