About the role
Responsibilities
- Design electrical schematics for automotive and defense applications, incorporating SoCs/MCUs, power components, and memory.
- Design boards utilizing high and low-speed digital interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, and automotive interfaces like CAN and LIN.
- Oversee PCB layout to ensure compliance with DFx standards, thermal, and mechanical constraints.
- Collaborate with system, firmware, and software teams to ensure successful platform bring-up and validation.
- Develop and execute detailed test plans to validate design performance and document results.
- Engage with PCB/PCBA vendors for fabrication and assembly processes.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- 2+ years of hands-on hardware design experience.
- Proficiency in schematic capture and layout.
- Strong grasp of analog and power design, as well as digital interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, I2C, SPI, UART).
- Proficiency with lab tools including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
- In-depth understanding of PCB manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience building automotive hardware systems or prototype vehicles.
- Experience with high-volume hardware production.
- Experience designing real-time hardware systems with safety constraints.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer.
- Experience designing circuits for cameras or displays.
