Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage NERC/FERC compliance by monitoring rule changes, conducting investigations, and maintaining electronic maintenance records
• Provide technical support for electrical power distribution systems, including high voltage substations, transformers, switchgear, and motors
• Perform electrical engineering studies such as arc flash, load flow, short circuit, and harmonic analysis
• Lead electrical engineering activities to improve asset reliability and optimize maintenance costs
• Provide technical guidance to operating plants regarding local, national, and international electrical codes and standards
• Perform protection engineering tasks, including developing system models and determining relay settings
• Support operations, maintenance, and project managers with electrical safety and system protection standards

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical design and/or operations
• Strong understanding of medium/high voltage motors and distribution systems
• Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (IEC, ISA, NEC, IEEE)
• In-depth knowledge of NERC/FERC regulations and ERCOT nodal markets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the industrial gas industry
