About the role
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for simulated training devices, including AC/DC power distribution, grounding, and I/O distribution.
- Interface various avionics and trainer equipment using protocols such as MIL-1553, ARINC-429, and Ethernet.
- Collaborate with Systems and Mechanical Engineering teams to develop manufacturable, reliable, and maintainable electrical designs.
- Produce technical documentation including wire lists, cable drawings, system drawings, and top-level assemblies.
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to specify hardware and ensure successful technology solutions.
- Support manufacturing by resolving design issues and creating engineering change documents.
- Participate in customer meetings, including requirement reviews, design reviews, and acceptance testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge of hardware and electrical system design and test processes.
- Experience with AC/DC power distribution and electrical system design.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for compliance with government contract and security requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience within the flight simulator industry.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD software.
- Previous experience working with government customers and supporting design reviews.
