About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems and equipment for Unmanned Systems (UAVs, UGVs, USVs)
- Design, test, and review new and existing PCB designs
- Support flight test events, demonstrations, and exercises
- Select components based on specifications, reliability, and design parameters
- Work with avionics, embedded systems, and Radio Frequency (RF) links
- Develop and maintain electrical control systems, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Analyze technical data to ensure compliance with military standards and regulations
- Collaborate with engineering teams and clients to resolve technical issues
- Support rapid prototyping, system bring-up, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
- Implement quality control processes to ensure product reliability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- 6+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of industry protocols (LVDS, I2C, HDMI, UART, SPI, CAN, USB, MIPI)
- Proficiency in circuit design, embedded microcontrollers, and power distribution
- Strong ECAD skills for schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium, Eagle, Fusion360, or KiCAD)
- Experience with electrical simulation tools like LTspice
- Experience with RF simulation tools such as ANSYS HFSS or CST Microwave Studio
- Proficiency with embedded processors (ARM) and C/C++ programming
- Experience with lab equipment including Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, and VNAs
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret DoD clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with gas and battery-powered UAVs and associated avionics (IMUs, AHRS, BLDC motors)
- Experience using MCAD tools like Autodesk Fusion360 or SolidWorks
- Leadership experience managing teams via Jira or Confluence
