About the role
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and integrate electronic systems from schematics, layouts, and engineering documentation
- Perform through-hole and SMT soldering, including fine-pitch assembly, rework, and repair operations
- Build wire harnesses and cable assemblies, including crimping, routing, termination, and continuity validation
- Support PCB bring-up, hardware integration, system testing, and iterative design validation
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues at the component, board, and system level using oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Collaborate with engineers to improve manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and hardware reliability
- Maintain accurate build records, test documentation, and assembly procedures
- Support the transition from prototype hardware to repeatable low-volume manufacturing builds
Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics assembly, integration, and troubleshooting
- Strong soldering and rework capability across through-hole and SMT assemblies
- Proficiency using electrical test and diagnostic equipment, such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams
- Experience building and integrating wire harnesses and cable assemblies
- Familiarity with electrical CAD tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or OrCAD
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to PCB fabrication, embedded electronics, or power electronics
- Experience supporting prototype builds and low-volume manufacturing workflows
- Mechanical aptitude for enclosure integration and fixture assembly
- CofA or CofQ certification in a related discipline
