About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop preliminary and final design plans and details for transit rail systems
  • Participate in design reviews to evaluate concepts and provide recommendations
  • Produce electrical engineering plan sets, wiring schematics, and equipment layout drawings
  • Utilize MicroStation, AutoCAD, PromisE, and Bentley Raceway and Cable Manager
  • Create technical documents and project schedules using Microsoft Office products
  • Follow Transit Design Standards and company CAD standards
  • Assist in co-leading junior designers on specific tasks and projects
  • Support the development of team software training materials

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in CAD, 3D modeling, drafting, survey, or a similar program
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in computer-aided design, modeling, or drafting
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (2D & 3D)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • General knowledge of electrical engineering principles and the ability to comprehend electrical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize design discrepancies
  • Excellent critical thinking, planning, and communication skills
