About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding, and lighting systems from concept to completion.
  • Perform calculations to size conduits, cable tray systems, and pull boxes according to Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) requirements.
  • Develop and navigate 3D models to check for interferences and ensure constructability.
  • Route electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate accurate cable schedules.
  • Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs.
  • Coordinate with project teams using databases to manage reviews, holds, and information requests.
  • Analyze and inspect designs to ensure adherence to electrical quality standards and safety requirements.
  • Act as a field resource to assist construction teams with real-time issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or College degree in Drafting and Design or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design.
  • Expertise in the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
  • Experience with underground designs from concept to completion.
  • Proficiency in SmartPlant 3D.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD.
  • Experience with cable tray, grounding, and lighting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in power generation projects.
  • Experience with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70).
  • Ability to conceptualize effectively within a 3D environment.
