About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist with ITS/technology designs for roadside assets such as CCTV, signals, VMS, ERT, and MIDAS
  • Produce drawings, documents, technical reports, and design briefs
  • Support design reviews, optioneering, feasibility work, and technical submissions
  • Help monitor programme, budget, quality assurance, and compliance with CPS standards
  • Participate in site visits, surveys, inspections, and continuous improvement activities

Requirements

  • Relevant vocational qualification in electrical, electronics, telecommunications, or similar
  • Interest in professional registration with IET, IHE, or similar
  • Basic understanding of ITS/technology systems and engineering standards
  • Awareness of DMRB, MCHW, and related design guidance
  • Good IT and Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • UK-based and legally eligible to work in the UK

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electrical or technology equipment used in highways
  • Awareness of the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations
  • Understanding of communication networks or cyber security principles
  • Knowledge of CDM and health and safety legislation
  • Experience from placements, secondments, or academic projects
  • CSCS card registration
  • Current UK driving licence
  • Basic Microsoft Project knowledge
