Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of intermediate complexity
• Develop and review specifications and design criteria
• Perform and check engineering analyses and calculations
• Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients
• Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan and procedures
• Establish, control, and report on material key quantities
• Provide technical support for equipment procurement, subcontracting, and construction administration

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering
• Minimum five years of work-related experience
• U.S. citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and standards
• Experience creating electrical design drawings (single line diagrams, schematics, etc.)
• Proficiency in performing complex system studies (short circuit, load flow, etc.)
• Experience providing EPC services on commercial or industrial projects
• Proficiency with 3D modeling and 2D CADD automation tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license
• Experience with ASME NQA-1 nuclear facility requirements
• Experience with U.S. Department of Energy or other federal agencies
• Proficiency with Visual Professional lighting design software
• Proficiency with Intergraph Smart3D (S3D)
• Advanced knowledge of SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) or ETAP
