Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of specific project areas and ensure technical accuracy in project execution
• Provide guidance and supervision to other engineers and designers
• Analyze and recommend technical solutions to problems of advanced complexity
• Develop and review specifications, design criteria, and electrical design documents
• Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and specify materials and equipment
• Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients
• Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan, scope, cost, and schedule baselines
• Support equipment procurement, subcontracting, and construction administration

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering
• 10 to 15+ years of work-related experience (10 years for Senior, 15+ for Principal)
• U.S. citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government-issued clearance
• Proficiency in electrical design drawings, including single line diagrams and schematics
• Experience performing complex system studies such as short circuit and load flow
• Significant experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services for large industrial projects
• Proficiency with 3D modeling and 2D CADD automation tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering License
• Experience with ASME NQA-1 requirements for nuclear facilities
• Experience with U.S. Department of Energy or other federal agencies
• Proficiency with SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) or ETAP
• Practical field experience
