Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical layouts, containment routing, schematic diagrams, and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) for lighting, power, and LV distribution.
• Conduct engineering calculations including electrical load estimations, cable sizing, short-circuit analyses, and voltage drop calculations.
• Perform indoor, outdoor, and emergency lighting simulations using DIALux/DIALux evo to ensure compliance and energy efficiency.
• Design and integrate Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems such as fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and ICT structured cabling.
• Participate in BIM coordination reviews to resolve spatial clashes with HVAC, plumbing, and structural elements.
• Prepare technical submission packages and drawings for approval by municipal bodies and local utilities (SEWA, DEWA, ADDC).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 2 to 5 years of design office experience within building services consultancy or architectural firms.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP) for 3D modeling and extraction.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• High proficiency in DIALux or DIALux evo.
• Solid knowledge of regional utility regulations (SEWA, DEWA, or ADDC) and international standards such as BS 7671 or IEC.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active membership or eligibility for registration with the local Society of Engineers.
• Familiarity with electrical analysis tools such as ETAP or Amtech/Trimble.
