Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design activities for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
• Produce and review electrical designs, calculations, specifications, schedules, and drawings
• Design and specify LV power distribution systems, MCCs, switchgear, UPS, and standby generation
• Develop earthing, lightning protection, and cable sizing designs
• Interface with ICA engineers on control systems, instrumentation, and telemetry requirements
• Collaborate with mechanical, civil, process, and ICA disciplines
• Mentor and technically support graduate and intermediate electrical engineers
• Review and approve designs produced by others

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Significant experience in the water or wastewater sector
• Strong understanding of electrical systems used in water treatment and pumping applications
• Experience delivering designs from concept through to construction and commissioning
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as BS 7671, BS EN, IEC, and WIMES
• Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on regulated water frameworks
• Site experience including commissioning and fault-finding
• Knowledge of functional safety and hazardous area design
• Familiarity with NEC or similar engineering contracts
