About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team delivering electrical engineering design and advisory services for complex industrial and manufacturing projects
  • Serve as the Engineer of Record and act as the primary interface with clients, project management, and business development
  • Support project pursuits by developing work plans, design schedules, and fee estimates
  • Oversee department leadership, including career development, mentoring, recruiting, and succession planning
  • Manage staff assignments to align with utilization and billability targets
  • Ensure quality assurance and oversight for all department work products

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License
  • 10+ years of design and consulting experience working with clients, contractors, or developers
  • Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships, and win new work
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff
  • Commitment to fostering a safety-first culture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing electrical engineering staff and departmental billability
  • Expertise in power distribution systems, microgrids, or high voltage transmission
  • Experience with power generation projects exceeding 10MW capacity
  • Proficiency in power system modeling software such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or EasyPower
  • Knowledge of Energy Storage Systems (ESS), SCADA, or protection and control
