About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team delivering electrical engineering design and advisory services for complex industrial and manufacturing projects
- Serve as the Engineer of Record and act as the primary interface with clients, project management, and business development
- Support project pursuits by developing work plans, design schedules, and fee estimates
- Oversee department leadership, including career development, mentoring, recruiting, and succession planning
- Manage staff assignments to align with utilization and billability targets
- Ensure quality assurance and oversight for all department work products
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional Engineering (PE) License
- 10+ years of design and consulting experience working with clients, contractors, or developers
- Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships, and win new work
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff
- Commitment to fostering a safety-first culture
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing electrical engineering staff and departmental billability
- Expertise in power distribution systems, microgrids, or high voltage transmission
- Experience with power generation projects exceeding 10MW capacity
- Proficiency in power system modeling software such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or EasyPower
- Knowledge of Energy Storage Systems (ESS), SCADA, or protection and control
