Electrical & Controls Technician

Responsibilities

• Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades
• Support and troubleshoot industrial MV and LV electrical power systems, motor control, and grounding systems
• Support and troubleshoot protection and control systems
• Complete electrical control and instrumentation system design, including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems
• Support, troubleshoot, program, and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications
• Perform system checkout, testing, and commissioning
• Assist in the design of electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and other supporting documentation
• Support mill operations with upgrades and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems

Requirements

• Electrical Technical degree, Electrician certification, or similar qualification
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy industrial environments
• Fluency in English (strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills)
• Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%)
• Practical knowledge of North American standards
• Legally entitled to work in the USA

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the pulp & paper industry
• Foxboro DCS programming and/or configuration experience
