Electrical & Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades
• Design industrial MV and LV electrical power systems, including electrical room design, equipment specifications, motor control, and grounding systems
• Perform protection and control systems design and settings
• Complete electrical control and instrumentation system design including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems
• Design, program, and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications
• Perform system checkout, testing, and commissioning
• Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings and installation specifications
• Support mill operations with upgrades and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical engineering (or a similar field)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering
• Practical knowledge of North American electrical standards
• Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%)
• Legally entitled to work in the USA
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the pulp & paper industry
• Ability to register as a Professional Engineer (PE)
• Foxboro DCS programming and/or configuration experience
