Responsibilities

  • Analyze bid packages and develop detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes
  • Perform takeoffs and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and isometric drawings
  • Conduct site walks and client walkthroughs to validate scope and conditions
  • Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, and field electricians to validate constructability
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to confirm product specifications and pricing
  • Specify and source electrical materials such as wire, conduit, and control systems
  • Manage vendor quotes, material procurement strategies, and delivery planning
  • Support project teams with schedule alignment, labor planning, and cost tracking
  • Apply and uphold NEC / NFPA 70 and OSHA standards
  • Incorporate safety considerations like LOTO and arc flash into estimates

Requirements

  • 7+ years of electrical field construction experience
  • 3+ years of electrical estimating experience
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution and instrumentation and control wiring
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, P&IDs, and isometric drawings
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, and OSHA standards
  • Experience with estimating tools and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for site visits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks
