Electrical Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Assist electricians with the maintenance and repair of production machinery
• Help install and maintain motors, sensors, conveyors, and control panels
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical faults on manufacturing equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and automated systems
• Support the maintenance team during machine breakdowns to reduce downtime
• Assist with PLC panels, drives, and industrial control systems
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Help with testing electrical circuits and equipment using testing instruments
• Ensure all work follows health, safety, and food-safety regulations
• Keep tools, spare parts, and work areas clean and organized

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12
• N2–N6 Electrical Engineering qualification
• Basic knowledge of industrial electrical systems
• Ability to work shifts in a factory environment
• Understanding of safety standards in manufacturing plants

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic industrial automation knowledge
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure during equipment breakdowns
• Strong teamwork skills with production and maintenance teams
