Electrical Apprentice 1st

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate conduit, cable, electrical equipment, panels, sensors, and control components.
• Assist with the construction, fabrication, and wiring of control panels.
• Support the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical control circuits for motors and devices.
• Perform wiring verification and checkout activities under the direction of a certified Journeyperson.
• Assist with lockout/tagout (LOTO) and electrical isolation procedures to ensure safety.
• Maintain accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
• Support quality control checks to ensure work meets drawings and applicable standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Registered Apprentice Electrician with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT).
• Actively enrolled in an approved trade school program.
• Minimum of 500 hours of electrical experience.
• Ability to work night shifts (either Weekday or Weekend schedules).
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous work experience in an industrial, commercial, or manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of electrical tools and materials used in manufacturing.
• Experience with routine electrical maintenance operations.
