Electric Motor Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components for electric motors and associated rotating systems
• Support the design of transmission elements including shafts, gearboxes, and related hardware
• Create and maintain detailed 3D models and design data using CATIA V5
• Apply GD&T principles to ensure designs meet tight tolerance and performance requirements
• Support material selection activities, particularly for aluminium and sheet metal components
• Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to support product development and integration activities

Requirements

• Experience in rotating component design (e.g. electric motors, transmission systems, gearboxes, shafts)
• Strong 3D modelling experience using CATIA V5
• Good understanding of GD&T and working within tight tolerance environments
• Experience selecting and working with materials such as aluminium and sheet metal
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace background or experience working on high-performance, safety-critical mechanical systems
• Experience supporting products through multiple development stages, from concept to production
