About the role
Responsibilities
- Support critical election functions, including conducting elections and maintaining accurate voter registration records.
- Prepare ballots, local voters' pamphlets, election supplies, and equipment in compliance with Washington State law.
- Perform clerical and receptionist duties such as recordkeeping, answering phones, and providing public service to candidates and stakeholders.
- Maintain the Statewide Voter Registration Database and assist with the implementation of state law changes.
- Create and coordinate the production of election documents, including Sample Ballots, Candidate Guidelines, and the Online Voters' Guide.
- Process official documents such as declarations of candidacy, oaths of office, petitions, and voter registration challenges.
- Coordinate the daily processing of ballots and oversee the activities of the opening board and part-time employees.
- Organize, archive, and secure Clallam County election documents.
- Program, test, and operate ballot design, printing, adjudication, and tabulation software.
- Assist with the maintenance of election equipment and the coordination of curbside ballot drop boxes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Prior experience in customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends, especially during election periods.
- Ability to acquire a State of Washington certification as an Election Administrator after two years.
