Responsibilities
- Interface with plant personnel to ensure necessary programs, systems, and data collection support regulatory requirements
- Integrate environmental requirements into project plans and perform field verification
- Manage air permitting activities, including negotiations and compliance for Washington and California agencies
- Oversee industrial wastewater testing and permit compliance
- Manage stormwater compliance and hazardous waste programs, including waste characterization and disposal
- Prepare annual CERS submissions, waste reports, and air permit data
- Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify risks and implement corrective actions
- Set strategy for source testing and manage reporting to agencies
- Develop and deliver environmental training for employees
- Assist with environmental incident reporting and root cause analysis
- Collaborate with EHS&S staff to develop and implement environmental initiatives
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience building and scaling corporate EHS&S programs in heavy tech, chemicals, automotive, or advanced manufacturing
- Minimum 5 years leading large-scale environmental programs with experience in technology transfer from R&D to high-volume manufacturing
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in EHS, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Ability to work onsite in Alameda, CA or Moses Lake, WA with frequent travel (~25%)
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment including respirators and flame-resistant clothing
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
