EHS Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support the site’s Health & Safety strategy in line with UK legislation
• Implement and monitor safe systems of work, risk assessments, and method statements
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses using root cause analysis
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and ISO 14001 standards
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Deliver EHS training and awareness programmes to employees and managers
• Maintain emergency response plans for fire, chemical spills, and other emergencies
• Act as a primary point of contact for regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency

Requirements

• NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent)
• IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management (or equivalent)
• Strong working knowledge of EHS Management Systems
• Proactive approach to driving safety standards and culture

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within the chemical manufacturing or chemical distribution industry
• Previous experience in a dedicated EHS role
