EHS Specialist II

Responsibilities

• Manage routine Environmental and Health & Safety (EHS) compliance at electric power generation facilities.
• Perform complex technical reporting including Title V, EDR, DMR, EE/DT, TIER II, and AEI.
• Provide oversight for major programs such as Air & Water compliance, Waste Management, PSM/RMP, and DOT.
• Drive risk recognition and mitigation by assessing physical, operational, and regulatory risks.
• Investigate environmental and safety incidents, accidents, and near-miss events to recommend process improvements.
• Serve as a liaison between regulatory agencies and plant staff.
• Support internal and external audits, agency inspections, and employee training.
• Partner with operations to build employee engagement through goal setting and personal engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in EHS (4+ years preferred).
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to travel overnight approximately 10% of the time for meetings and training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the power generation industry.
• Knowledge of Part 60 and Part 75 regulations and CEMS.
• Professional EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CHMM, CIH, REM).
