About the role
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the EHS Management System to support site operations and compliance
- Provide technical expertise to the operations team regarding engineering controls and hazard elimination
- Conduct ergonomic assessments, environmental inspections, and compliance audits
- Support site-specific injury reduction and EHS risk management plans
- Deliver EHS compliance training and support annual site training plans
- Assist with environmental compliance, including air emissions, water discharge, and waste disposal
- Participate in incident investigations to identify causal factors and implement corrective actions
- Use data analytics to identify safety trends and opportunities for improvement
- Drive a collaborative, problem-solving safety culture within a manufacturing environment
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of EHS experience implementing environmental, safety, or ergonomics programs
- BS or BA degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT HMT, and EPA regulations
- Experience working with a unionized workforce
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
- Advanced computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in an EHS discipline
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- Previous experience conducting formal audits
