EHS Specialist

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the EHS Management System to support site operations and compliance
• Provide technical expertise to the operations team regarding engineering controls and hazard elimination
• Conduct ergonomic assessments, environmental inspections, and compliance audits
• Support site-specific injury reduction and EHS risk management plans
• Deliver EHS compliance training and support annual site training plans
• Assist with environmental compliance, including air emissions, water discharge, and waste disposal
• Participate in incident investigations to identify causal factors and implement corrective actions
• Use data analytics to identify safety trends and opportunities for improvement
• Drive a collaborative, problem-solving safety culture within a manufacturing environment

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of EHS experience implementing environmental, safety, or ergonomics programs
• BS or BA degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT HMT, and EPA regulations
• Experience working with a unionized workforce
• Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
• Advanced computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in an EHS discipline
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
• Previous experience conducting formal audits
