About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure site compliance with all federal, state, local, and company environmental regulations regarding air, water, soil, waste, and sustainability.
- Develop and implement programs to identify, assess, and control environmental risks and exposures.
- Manage environmental compliance processes, including regulatory reporting, compliance calendars, and hazardous waste handling.
- Partner with regulatory agencies and lead site inspections, audits, and compliance activities.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain EHS policies, procedures, KPIs, and training programs.
- Monitor EHS performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support change management by reviewing projects and new processes for EHS risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Occupational Safety.
- 4+ years of experience in the Environmental Field.
- Experience managing EHS risks in FMCG, Pharmaceutical, or related high-hazard sectors.
- Knowledge of environmental tracking databases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience establishing programs to manage EHS risks within an overall management system.
- Experience reviewing change proposals, including capital projects and new products.
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Registered Environmental Manager (REM) designation.
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills to engage with site personnel and senior management.
