EHS Specialist – Environmental

Responsibilities

• Ensure site compliance with all federal, state, local, and company environmental regulations regarding air, water, soil, waste, and sustainability.
• Develop and implement programs to identify, assess, and control environmental risks and exposures.
• Manage environmental compliance processes, including regulatory reporting, compliance calendars, and hazardous waste handling.
• Partner with regulatory agencies and lead site inspections, audits, and compliance activities.
• Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
• Establish and maintain EHS policies, procedures, KPIs, and training programs.
• Monitor EHS performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support change management by reviewing projects and new processes for EHS risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Occupational Safety.
• 4+ years of experience in the Environmental Field.
• Experience managing EHS risks in FMCG, Pharmaceutical, or related high-hazard sectors.
• Knowledge of environmental tracking databases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience establishing programs to manage EHS risks within an overall management system.
• Experience reviewing change proposals, including capital projects and new products.
• Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Registered Environmental Manager (REM) designation.
• Strong relationship-building and networking skills to engage with site personnel and senior management.
