EHS Specialist

Responsibilities

• Drive safety program excellence through daily audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments
• Deliver engaging safety training to promote a proactive safety culture among associates
• Serve as a trusted safety advisor and advocate for associate wellbeing
• Implement innovative, data-driven solutions to prevent injuries and enhance workplace safety
• Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist with site emergency response
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to balance safety with operational efficiency

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field, a relevant bachelor's degree, or 6 months of safety experience within Amazon
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, squatting, and bending
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and/or weekends
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours during a shift

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a safety-related field
• Experience leading and managing a team
• Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns
• Experience in emergency response and current First Aid/CPR certification
• Experience in workers' compensation case management
