EHS Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support the Site EHS Manager in driving safety initiatives and compliance
• Track and monitor EHS objectives and site KPIs, implementing corrective action plans
• Conduct and review risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards
• Provide EHS oversight for Track and Guideway projects through field walks and compliance reviews
• Ensure proper documentation of compliance activities and support audits
• Develop and maintain emergency plans and host annual drills
• Lead investigations for safety violations, incidents, and accidents, including root cause reports
• Contribute to EHS culture through training and awareness programs
• Prepare compliance reports and present performance data to site leadership

Requirements

• Two years of college education (mandatory)
• Health & Safety Qualification recognized by local authorities (mandatory)
• Experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) activities
• Familiarity with ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, or ISO45001 standards
• Comprehensive understanding of local legal EHS requirements
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong communication skills for training and presenting safety materials
• Analytical and critical thinking skills for investigations
• Valid driver’s license in accordance with New York State laws

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certificate
• Experience in the rail industry
