EHS Senior Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Consult with departments on equipment design, fire prevention, and safety programs
• Inspect plant facilities, machinery, and fire safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards
• Conduct safety training to educate workers on emergency protocols, safety policies, and legal practices
• Investigate industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepare detailed accident reports
• Serve as an internal consultant on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, and chemical safety
• Administer workers' compensation, OSHA 300 logs, and return-to-work programs
• Interface with outside vendors, contractors, and engineers regarding workplace health and safety matters

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Health Sciences, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in EH&S or a related position
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working within the manufacturing industry
• Relevant safety certifications
• Experience with specific programs such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Machine Safety, or Risk Assessments (JHA, JSA)
• Knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards
• Expertise in Incident Analysis techniques like Fishbone or 5-Why
