About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental programs including waste management, hazardous waste, sustainability, stormwater, and air emissions
  • Support and co-lead complex EHS projects to identify hazardous situations and implement risk reduction solutions
  • Monitor compliance and EHS performance by maintaining and reporting on key metrics
  • Maintain EHS management systems and develop trending reports for site leadership
  • Conduct internal EHS audits, safety inspections, and workplace condition assessments
  • Assess environmental risks and develop cost-effective control alternatives
  • Partner with site business functions and external regulatory organizations to resolve complex problems
  • Develop and administer interactive training in support of EHS programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience; OR Master's degree with 0+ years; OR Associate's degree with 6 years; OR High School diploma with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulatory requirements
  • Experience performing internal EHS audits of programs, policies, and procedures
  • Experience with safety program development and cross-functional implementation
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) as well as SharePoint and Power BI
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present to groups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing facility or contractor safety programs in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Professional certifications such as CHMM, ASP, CSP, CIH, or PE
  • Knowledge of environmental health and safety management systems (ISO 14001/45001)
  • Experience with industrial codes such as IBC, NFPA, or NEC
  • Experience serving on in-plant Emergency Response Teams
